Mother and three children who lost their lives on BR-060 identified

In a tragic accident that took place on the BR-060, near the city of Campo Grande, capital of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, a 29-year-old woman and her three children, aged four months, two years and eleven years, lost their lives after a collision between two cars and a truck, on Sunday night.

The fatal victims were identified: Drielle Leite Lopes, Helena Leite Saraiva, 10 years old, José Augusto Saraiva, just 3 months old, and João Lúcio Leite Saraiva.

The tragedy mobilized rescue teams and caused intense social commotion, especially on social media, where friends and relatives mourned the losses. Among the survivors, five people were rescued, three of them with serious injuries.

Among the injured were the children’s father and the couple’s eldest son, aged 13, who were taken to a local hospital. The teenager had fractures in his legs and suspected internal bleeding. The father suffered multiple injuries and also remains hospitalized in serious condition.

The driver of the vehicle that caught fire was taken to a hospital in Sidrolândia, also in serious condition. According to information from the Civil Police, the accident occurred around 6:30 pm, when a sedan car invaded the opposite lane, colliding with the family’s car that was heading towards the capital of Mato Grosso do Sul.
